Saudi Arabia Cabinet Approves Multiple MoUs In Energy Sector

The Saudi Arabian Cabinet reviewed developments in the resumption of relations with Iran and approved several agreements, including those in tourism, energy, and agriculture.

The Cabinet was informed, at the beginning of the session presided by King Salman of a telephone call between Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia as well as Crown Prince of Kuwait, during which they discussed matters of mutual concern and re-examined bilateral relations.

The cabinet issued various decisions including the approvals of multiple MoUs, with countries such as China, Kyrgyzstan, Turkiye, Costa Rica Thailand and Congo.

The resumption of diplomatic relations with Iran was one of the topics that were discussed. The Cabinet emphasized the importance of implementing these plans in order to increase mutual trust and expand the scope for cooperation, thereby achieving security and stability throughout the region.

The Cabinet approved an agreement during the session between the Ministry of Energy in the Kingdom and the National Energy Administration of the People’s Republic of China for the purpose of working together in the area of clean hydrogen.

The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture of the Kingdom and China’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs also discussed the possibility of signing an MoU.

The cabinet also discussed the expansion and cooperation with Turkiye in the energy sector through an MoU.

The meeting saw the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in the area of environmental protection by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture of the Kingdom and the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Technical Supervision of Kyrgyzstan.

The Cabinet has approved a MoU to encourage and promote investment in Thailand.
