Yinson hits milestone with Brazil-bound FPSO

Yinson Holdings and partner Sumitomo Corporation have held the naming ceremony of the Anna Nery FPSO destined for Petrobras’ Marlim field in Brazil, the Malaysian offshore engineering company announced on Wednesday.

The Anna Nery FPSO is currently undergoing final conversion works in Qidong, China, and will set sail for Brazil in Q3 2022. Operations on the field are set to commence in 2023.

The 27,000-tonne vessel is being converted from a large crude carrier and will have a production capacity of 70,000 million bopd and 4 mcm (141,000 cubic feet) of gas per day.

“FPSO Anna Nery is our maiden asset in Brazil, and the first of three Brazil-bound offshore production projects that Yinson is currently undertaking,” said Flemming Grønnegaard, CEO of Yinson Holdings.

Brazilian NOC Petrobras awarded the construction contract to Yinson Holdings in October 2019.
